It has been formally announced that Danica Patrick will make her Sprint Cup Series debut in next year’s 2012 Daytona 500, piloting the No. 10 (her all-time favorite number) GoDaddy.com Chevrolet for Stewart-Haas Racing.
Danica will be racing ten races in Cup next season: Daytona 500, Darlington, Bristol II, Atlanta, Chicago, Dover II, Texas II, Phoenix II, and two other races that have not been decided yet. This will get her ready for a possible full-time Cup Series ride in 2013 with Stewart-Haas. In addition to these ten Cup races, Danica will also be racing full-time in the Nationwide Series with JR Motorsports.
Danica said that she feels safer in NASCAR stock cars as opposed to IndyCar - mainly because of the stock cars having roofs and not an open cockpit.
