Congratulations, Joey Logano

After today's Pocono 400 at the newly paved Pocono Raceway, pole-sitter,Joey Logano, crossed the Start/Finish line 0.997 seconds ahead of role model and mentor, Mark Martin, after bumping Martin out of the lead with three laps to go.

Since it's contract year at Joe Gibbs Racing, this win for Logano came at a very good time.  As I'm sure many of you have seen and heard, the rumor mill has been spinning lately that Logano's No. 20 ride at Joe Gibbs Racing was in jeopardy because of his lack of results, but this win today may have just helped him keep his ride and keep the rumor mill from spinning even more.

Today's win at Pocono was Logano's second win in one hundred and twenty-five starts; his first win came at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2009 after the rain decided the race was over.  Not only was today's win Joey's second win, but (A) it was crew chief, Jason Ratcliff's, first win in the Sprint Cup Series, (B) it was Joe Gibbs Racing's ninety-seventh Cup Series win, and (c) Joey Logano became the youngest winner at Pocono Raceway at 22 years, seven days old.

A big congratulations to Joey Logano, Jason Ratcliff, Joe Gibbs Racing, and the entire No. 20 Home Depot Toyota team on today's win!
