ABOUT

About The NASCAR Corner…

In June 2010, I knew that I didn’t want to be sitting in my house doing summer homework, so I started a blog, about nothing else but one of my favorite topics, NASCAR, not thinking anything would come out of it.  I always liked to write, but I was very shy about people reading what I wrote.  In the five - years that The NASCAR Corner has been in publication, over 250,000 people have checked out this blog.

I try to provide the NASCAR Community with a unique outlook on the sport.  Being only 20, I’m able to bring a younger perspective on the sport.  I also cover up-and-coming drivers and teams to help them gain more exposure as they work their way up the ranks of NASCAR stardom and I often go to my fellow NASCAR fans on their opinions on a topic.  In addition to this, I allow other fans to ask my opinion in my “Ask the Crew Chief” Series I write.

About the Creator...

Some people believe that a 20-year-old girl who likes NASCAR - or any form of racing - is "weird."  I'd like to think of myself more as an individual.  Plenty of girls like hockey, baseball, basketball, and even golf, so why is it so weird that a girl likes NASCAR?  Let me formally introduce myself, my name is Ashley Schindler and I’m a junior Mass Media major at UNC Charlotte.  I would ultimately like to work for NASCAR as a Race Reporter; so you've been forewarned, you may end up seeing my face on your TV one day, and for that, my most sincere apologies.

I’ve been a NASCAR fan for as long as I can remember, but my first race was the Dover Nationwide Race in June 2005 at the tender age of ten.  My favorite tracks are Charlotte, Bristol, Daytona, and Talladega.  I’ve had the privilege of meeting many drivers, in all series, including ARCA, Truck, Nationwide, and Cup.
