Kyle Claims Victory Again!
Kyle Busch made history again, this time at New Hampshire Motor Speedway at the New England 200. Kyle was able to pull far enough away from Joey Logano on lap 183 when Logano spun his tires, which allowed Brad Keselowski to soar into second place. Kyle beat Keselowski to the finish line by 0.644 seconds. This was Kyle's 36th career win, which means that he is the first driver to have a repeat win at New Hampshire!
Today, as of lap 165, Mark Martin held the position of all-time lap leader in the Nationwide series with 8,082 laps led. By the time the race had been completed, Kyle had led 8,117 laps, pushing Mark out of the lead.
Kyle just needs to win thirteen more races and he will defeat Mark Martin again, this time for most Nationwide wins.
Now for my least favorite topic, Danica Patrick. The sound of her name makes many people cringe, but we have to talk about her. Danica was involved in a crash on lap 7 when Morgan Shpeherd bumped her, resulting in the number seven hitting the wall. She eventually finished several laps down in 30th, her best career finish, no surprise there!
Rounding out the top 5 were Brad Keselowski, Carl Edwards, Joey Logano, and Trevor Bayne. Trevor also had a career-best, 5th place finish today.
The point standings have remained the same. Brad Keselowski continues to lead with 2,466 points. Carl Edwards is in second trailing Keselowski by 237 points. Justin Allgaier is in third. Kyle Busch is in fourth. Paul Menard rounds out the top-five, trailing Keselowski by 606 points!
Congratulations Kyle!!
