One Year Anniversary!

If you told me a year ago that I would still be writing The NASCAR Corner, I would probably laugh at you.   If you told me that it had gotten over 18,000 views, I would think you were kind of crazy.  If you told me I would have interviewed drivers or had media credentials for an ARCA race, I would tell you to have your brain examined.  The reality? It’s all true.  This little blog I created a year ago certainly didn’t turn out as I thought it would; like every hobby, it was to pass the time, or in my case, provide an escape from my homework, but boy was I wrong!

So what has happened in the past year?

July - November: Nothing major happened; I found out how many people actually read what I wrote and came to the site looking for up-to-date information in the NASCAR world.

December:  I scored an interview with Caitlin Shaw.  In addition to the interview, it was the first time that the blog reached over 1,000 views in one month – a major milestone for us.

January:  As if sixteenth birthdays aren't memorable enough, Austin Dillon called me to wish me a "Happy Birthday” in the Cruze- Arati "Ultimate NASCAR Fan" video.

February: I interviewed dirt track driver, Dillon Crim.  It was also the tenth anniversary of Dale Earnhardt, Sr.’s death and posted an emotional blog from the fans to Dale.  This was the month the blog reached over 2,000 views.

March: I interviewed Logan Ruffin and Camden Murphy.  I also introduced my column, “Ask the Crew Chief,” where the fans get my opinion on whatever they are curious on what my take is on a specific topic.

April: I interviewed Mackena Bell.  This is when I also decided that I’ve been given so much that it was time for me to give back and donate to the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma.  In addition to these things, I was able to interview Team Cass Racing from the K&N Series.  The best thing about April?  The blog reached 3,000 plus views for the month.

May:  Certainly a busy month for me.  I went to the Dover Camping World Truck Series Race and the ARCA Race at New Jersey Motorsports Park.   It was this month that I was welcomed into the ARCA Media Community, and received my first media credentials for the ARCA Race.

June: Nothing major has happened this month…well, that I can tell you!  Besides coming up with the “Caption This” page, it has been a pretty uneventful month here – except that it’s the one year anniversary!

I really do hope you all like what you read.  I hope that it isn’t just some website that you check out once and then never come back; you should be able to come here for information on a topic and find it.  I know I have some very loyal readers out there who are always checking up here to see what’s new or just to read some old posts when there's nothing new.  Then there are the ones who always share the link (yes, there’s a way to see that).

Thumbs up for the next year!
I just wanted to say thank you to all who have supported me in the last year and who have provided both positive and negative feedback.  Also, welcome to all the people who are new to the website; don’t be afraid to use the search bar at the top of the page to look for something on your favorite drivers or teams; chances are, there’s an article about them somewhere on here.

Thank you to everyone and here’s to another year of reporting the NASCAR news!!
