The Stadium Super Trucks Series will be making a
name for itself in 2013. This new series
organized by Robby Gordon will consist of twelve races which will be held on
temporary circuits around the country - University of Phoenix, Cowboys Stadium,
the Metrodome, and Soldier Field.
You might be wondering why I'm writing about this -
partially because it deals with former NASCAR racer Robby Gordon, but mainly
because NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Justin Lofton will participate
this year. Lofton will be scaling back
in the Truck Series to put his focus on this new series. Many people believe that this is a stretch,
but it's really not; for the second half of 2012, Lofton was sponsored by SPEED
Energy which is owned by Robby Gordon. Lofton
also has a background in off-road racing.
Doesn't seem so far-fetched now does it?
As for the Camping World Truck Series, Justin will compete
in ten races for Eddie Sharp Racing and would like to schedule those races to
be on speedways or superspeedways - tracks at which he found success last
season.
